Saxophonist Louis Van Taylor has been a staple of the funk music scene. Best known for his role playing saxophone with Kool & The Gang, Louis is also known for playing in the Billy Vera Big Band, Gerald Wilson Orchestra, Charles Wright and the Watts 103rd St. Band. Louis recently changed his setup to include the Signature Custom Raw Tenor, here are his thoughts on the horn.
“the Raw unlacquered tenor is amazing first of all in sound projection and secondly the mechanics of the horn makes playing very easy…the pearls are a little bigger than my balance action selmer tenor…so realizing my improvisational ideas are made easier.. everyone who hears the sound of this horn are amazed at the roundness and fullness of tone…..I love my RAW tenor!”
