Gareth ‘Big G’ Lumbers is a versatile and vibrant young saxophonist who is a graduate of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. He continues to tour all over the UK and Europe with many different pop/swing bands.

These include the British European Jazz Collective Tour of Europe, Pink Fraud (UK's #1 Pink Floyd Tribute) and the Briefcase Blues Brothers in addition to his own quintet playing at the famous 606 Jazz Club..

As a Saxophonist, Gareth has been involved in radio, film, recording and TV credits with many groups in the UK including sessions for Channel 4, ITV, BBC, EMI and WARNER Bros.

More Recent TV appearances and sessions include the UK show "The Only Way is Essex LIVE" and "The Only Way is Essex Mas", on ITV2 and was featured on Jazz FM on their Discovery Show.

Since leaving Guildhall Gareth has had the opportunity to work and tour with Artists such has Billy Ocean, Martha Reeves + The Vandellas and Nick Heyward and Haircut 100. He has also worked at many of the Park Lane hotels including The Dorchester, Claridge's and has been regularly performer at the world famous Beaufort Bar in The Savoy Hotel.

Over that past year Gareth has had the privilege of having the Sax/Flute chair in Myles Sanko's band. This has seen Gareth playing in front of hundreds to thousands of people all over Europe, from Blue Note Jazz Club in Milan to The ''Jazz In Duke Town'' Jazz festival in Holland, as well as sessions for live radio in Holland (Radio 6) and Italy (Radio 2) and Germany, and has also been privileged to share the same stage with Miles Davis Sax legend Bill Evans and superb bassist Christian McBride.

As a committed educator Gareth, has been privileged to teach Saxophone and Jazz Studies at some of the UK's oldest and prestigious private music schools including "Tonbridge Boys School 1553", "Loughborugh Endowed Schools" founded in 1495, "Uppingham and Oakham School" both founded in 1584, and perhaps the oldest institution, "Kings School" in Canterbury. Gareth continues to focus on eduction in music running workshops and clinics here in the U.K and whilst on tour.

Recently Gareth has been running workshops alongside L.A Trumpet star Willie Murillo of Gordon Goodwin Phat Band fame at both Uppingham and Oakham Schools HMC Schools.
